Artistic Director's Message
As we launch our 19th season it is great to look back and take stock of the number of people who have joined
the Perfect Harmony (PHMC) family over the years. Our continued close collaboration with City of Festivals
Men's Chorus (CoFMC) and other collaborations which have become possible through our relationship with the
Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA) have helped PHMC grow musically and as a voice for the LGBT
community. Our collaboration with One Voice Mixed Chorus of Minneapolis last November brought a huge crowd
to our Madison performance and was both a first for PHMC and the Steven's Point Area when we performed a
community concert to smaller but very appreciative audience at the Sentry Insurance Center in Stevens Point.
This experience has helped PHMC spread our message into a new area of the state. This spring we once again
collaborated with CoFMC on our spring concert. This was the third collaboration in 4 years between our two
organizations. This has been a great relationship for us as we are able to share some of the costs of doing bigger
shows, such as Naked Man with full orchestra and paying for the cost of performance rights for the Sixties Show.
Looking forward we are planning great things this year which includes an additional concert on February 6, 2016
as part of the Stoughton Opera House season. We also will be closing the season by making our third appearance
at the GALA International Chorus Festival in Denver. Festival occurs every 4 years and changes our chorus for
the better, by exposing us to the greater world of choruses who sing with a social justice mission. Every chorus
member I have talked to has said festival has changed their life. Those of you who have been with us have noticed
how dramatically the chorus has changed since 2008. The two festivals we attended in 2008 and 2012 are a big part
of that change. This year will be no different, as we will be arriving as the largest Wisconsin contingent in
festival history. Perfect Harmony, Common Chords and our brothers in CoFMC will together represent the progressive
tradition of the state of Wisconsin. The costs of this life changing experience come out of our singer's pockets,
please consider helping your favorite singer(s) get to festival by making a donation to our Buy a Mile program.
With your generous help we can make sure that no one misses out on this life changing opportunity.
